Horsemasters is a way for adult riders to be active in Pony Club too! Members may be new to Pony Club or have previously participated as a Youth member. For the Horsemasters members who were a previous Pony Club member, they enter into the Horsemasters membership with the highest Certification (rating) that they had earned. As a Horsemasters member they can continue to advance through the levels. New members typically work through the levels from the beginning, but in some cases, equivalency for certifications such as with the British Horse Society may be granted. The dues for Horsemasters are the same as for junior members.
The Horsemasters Standards of Proficiency mirror the youth Standards except they have a volunteer section at the D-1 and D-2 levels. Horsemasters can also advance beyond the local level and achieve national level certifications and compete in rallies. At mounted and unmounted meetings Horsemasters members work to learn the topics outlined in the POny Club Standards, just like younger members.
At Narrows, Horsemasters have two mounted lessons a month (one flat, one jumping), typically on Thursday evenings. D and C1 members join a Thursday evening unmounted lesson, and C2 and up members join a separate upper level unmounted program.
